Scarborough Fair 英格蘭中世紀民謠,
史卡博羅市集是一場盛大的交易盛事，從八月十五日開始，為期４５天。
來自英格蘭各地，歐洲大陸的商人，都會聚集在史卡博羅鎮上進行交易。
這首歌由吟遊詩人(bard)，或是(shaper）所唱；
他們唱過一鎮又一鎮，每當聽到一首歌，帶往下一個小鎮吟唱時，
在賽門(Simon)與葛芳柯(Garfunkels) 1966年的
「Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme香菜、鼠尾草、迷迭香與百里香」專輯中，
即引用了不少這些詩句，也讓這首歌一舉成名。
在每個詩節第二行中重複出現的藥草
~ 香菜、鼠尾草、迷迭香和百里香，決定了這首歌的主要主題。
對於中古時期的人們來說，它們就跟今日的紅玫瑰一樣，賦予無盡想像。
象徵著歌手希望愛人與自己能擁有的一切美德。
Parsley香菜 (Petroselinum crispum) 據說香菜可以調和苦味，
中古時期的醫師，也將此特性轉化為精神層次。
Sage鼠尾草 (Salvia officinalis) 鼠尾草千年以來以象徵力量聞名。
Rosemary迷迭香 (Rosmarinus officinalis) 迷迭香代表忠貞、愛與紀念。
Thyme百里香 (Thymus vulgaris) 象徵著勇氣
